Doug James brings a wealth of leadership and strategic expertise to the Law Office of Shannon James as the Chief of Staff. With a distinguished career in both military and corporate sectors, Doug is well-equipped to drive the firm's strategic initiatives and operational efficiency.

Doug graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Physics and later earned an MBA from Florida State University. His career began in the United States Air Force, where he served as a fighter pilot flying the A-10 and F-15C aircraft. Doug had over 2500 hours flying fighter aircraft with over 500 in combat.  Doug's extensive experience includes managing critical Air Force programs at the Pentagon and serving in high-profile positions such as Deputy Director of the Coalition Coordination Center at CENTCOM and Deputy Assistant Director of Air and Space Operations for the Pacific Air Forces. His leadership was instrumental during major events such as supporting coalition forces in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in 2011, and the Philippine typhoon in 2013.

In the corporate world, Doug has held significant roles, including Chief Pilot for JetBlue Airways' New York base and Fleet Captain in charge of A320 aircraft standardization. He led teams that developed industry benchmarks and redesigned operational systems, showcasing his passion for strategy and efficiency.  Doug was also President of the non-profit, Save Our Heroes, for three years.  Save Our Heroes focused on fair legal representation for armed service members and their families. 

Doug is also actively involved in the community by building houses for under privileged, mentoring future pilots and was a mentor for MBA students at Arizona State University. His diverse background and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable asset to the Law Office of Shannon James.
